Perhaps you should try researching under the spelling "Nuckols." I can tell
you that "Nuckols" is a very familiar name to anyone who lives in the
greater Richmond, VA area (which includes Hanavor County, where I live.)
There are three columns of "Nuckols" and a few "Nuckolls" in the telephone
book. There is a "Nuckols Road", a "Nuckols Farm" and a "Nuckols Farm
School". There was even a regiment in the Civil War nicknamed the "Nuckols
Regiment"

There is a Nuckols Family Geneaology Forum at

http://genforum.genealogy.com/nuckols/

You may also want to get in touch with people from the counties surrounding
Hanover, especially Goochland and Henrico Counties. I am always running
into that name when I do research in Goochland, and a lot of the current day
people live in the Manakin-Sabot area of Goochland County.

Do a Google search on the spelling "Nuckols" and you will come up with many
valuable sites.

Hope this helps.

Judy

Subject: [VAHANOVE] Nuckels Family

I recently was discussing family history with a friend and her father's
family are Nuckels. It seems to me this was a family name from Hanover
County.
Can any one help me out with this. A general history of this family would
be
very helpful. Our friend knew that some of her ancestors had been in
Indiana at
one time. I suspect they were originally from further east, like Virginia.

Thanks for the help.
