I am relatively new to genealogy, but completely immersed in it, particularly my Harris line. I am
a direct descendent of Robert Harris and Mary Rice Claiborne. As any Harris researcher knows we are
at a bit of a stalemate with regard to Robert's parentage. Is he descended from Captain Thomas
Harris and Adria Gurganey, or Adria Osborne, or Joanne Gurganey, or Joanne Osborne. Was he born in
1615 in Essex, England or sometime between then and 1625 in Isle of Wight, or
Henrico,Virginia?.....I found the following querry online some weeks ago, responded to Marie Harvey,
and hope to make a trip to research the information she requests, but if there is now someone on
this wonderful new list who could do it the Harris research would benefit a great deal.....I realize
this is lengthy, but such an exciting opportunity!
