George &c. To all &c. Know Ye That for diverse good Causes and Consideracons
but more especially for and in Consideracon of the Importacon of Two persons
to dwell within this Our Colony and Dominion of Virginia whose names are
John Red and [Avio?] Red As also for and in Consideracon of the sum of
Twenty ffive Shillings of good and lawful mony for Our use paid to Our
Receivor General of Our Revenues in this Our said Colony and Dominion We
have given granted and Confirmed And by these presents for Us Our heirs
and Successors Do give grant and Confirm unto John Pride One Certain Tract
or parcell of Land containing Three hundred and Twenty Eight Acres lying
and being in the County of Henroco and on the North side of Appamattock
River and bounded as followeth (towit) Begining at a Corner White Oak standing
on a Branch of Butterwood Creek parting the said John and Anne Pride Jane
Pride and Mary Pride Thence up the said Branch according to the Meanders
One hundred & Twenty ffour poles to a Corner White Oak standing on the
said Branch Thence South Twenty Six Degrees West One hundred and Ninety
Two poles to a Corner White Oak Thence South Twenty One Degrees East Two
hundred and Twenty Poles to a Corner White Oak Thence East Three Degrees
South sixty Eight poles to two small Wild Beaches standing on the West
side of Butter Creek Thence up the said Creek according to the Meanders
fforty poles to a Corner Hickory standing on the East side of the said
Creek and at the Mouth of a small Branch Thence up the said Branch according
to the Meanders One hundred and sixty Eight poles to a Corner spanish Oak
standing on the West side the said Branch Thence North fforty Degrees West
One hundred and sixty Three poles to the place began at With all &c. To
have hold &c. To be held &c. Yeilding and paying &c. provided &c. In Witness
&c. Witness Our Trusty and Wellbeloved hugh Drysdale Esqr Our Lt. Govr.
and Com[ander] in Chief of our said Colony and Dominion at Wmsburgh under
the seal of Our said Colony the Seventeenth day of August One Thousand
seven hundred and Twenty ffive in the Twelfth Year of Our Reign ~
