I have been told that James H. Taylor born May 1819 married Sarah Miller b. Nov 1819 the daughter of Jesse Miller and his wife Frances Corbin. Jesse & Frances Miller found in 1850 Rappahannock Co., VA.

James H. Taylor according to family fought in Civil War and I have no way of knowing which Company he served in. I would also like to identify who James H. Taylor's parents were.

All I have been able to ascertain is that James and Sarah were living in Henrico Co., VA in 1860, 1870 and 1880 census records and had one son, Crewdson Taylor born 4 Apr 1855 and according to marriage record in Rappahannock Co. he was born in Rappahannock Co.

1880 Dist 73, Brookland, Henrico Co, VA census reads:
236/231 Taylor, James 60 yrs, Clerk, VA
Taylor, Sarah 60 yrs, wife VA
Taylor, Crewdson, 25 yrs, son, VA
Corbin, Sally H. 48 yrs, sister, VA

Sarah Taylor died prior to the 1900 census, but Crewdson Taylor married 1882 in Rappahannock Co. to Annie Jones Wood, d/o Charles B. & Mary E. Wood.

In 1900 census Crewdson & Annie Taylor were living in Albemarle Co. and Crewdson's father, James H. Taylor age 81 and a widower was living with them. Family says that Crewdson died when he was abt. 47 yrs old, so that was probably around 1902.

Crewdson & Annie Taylor had the following children:
James Miller Taylor b. Oct 1883
Sarah A. Taylor b. May 1886
Charles C. Taylor b. Sep 1888
Henry A. Taylor b. Apr 1892
Mary Taylor b. Sept 1894
John W. Taylor b. Dec 1896
Jessie W. Taylor b. Aug 1899 (female)

Oldest son, James Miller Taylor married Effie Lamberson of Indiana, the adopted daughter of Mary "Mollie" (Miller) McGhee/McGee the d/o Lewis & Martha A. Miller of Madison Co. VA.
James & Effie married in 1911 in Orange Co., VA.

James M. & Effie Taylor had the following children:
Mary Louise Taylor b. 1912
Flora Wood Taylor b. 1914
James Miller Taylor, Jr. b. 1916
Clara Kathryn Taylor b. 1918
Annie Lee Taylor b. 1920
Jessie Mildred Taylor b. 1922
Aubrey Wood Taylor b. 1923
Thelma May Taylor b. 1924
John Ashby Taylor b.1927
Crewson Edgar Taylor b. 1930
Henry Franklin Taylor b. 1933

The above family lived in Madison Co. VA until abt. 1937 when James relocated his family to Maryland to live.

Any help identifying the parents of James H. Taylor b. 1819 is greatly appreciated.
