Subject: [VAHIGHLA-L] Williams, James & Henrietta (Criser?), Bath, 1860

Can anybody tell me the maiden name (with a source) of Henrietta Williams,
wife of James, shown here in the 1860 Bath co VA census? They were probably
married in late 1850 or 1851, since James was with his mother Nancy in the
1850 Bath census and their first child is 9 in 1860. I have checked the
following counties for a marriage record: Augusta, Alleghany, Bath,
Greenbrier, Highland, Nelson, Pocahontas, Rockbridge, Rockingham, CD 229
(VA Marriage Index). I will also send this to the WILLIAMS-L list.
James Williams31mwagonmaker, R=300, P=100
Henrietta34f
William H.9m
Mary J.7f
Ella V.4f
Ira L. 2m
I theorize that she is Henrietta Criser/Critzer, d/o Henry & Polly, because
that's the only Henrietta of the right age in the 1850 Bath census and
Henry lives only 5 houses away from them in 1860, but this is weak evidence.
I'm not researching the Williams family otherwise; this is for my 1860 Bath
census annotation project.
Thanks for any clues,
Holly
