Mary,
I have a Frederick Vail, born 6/4/1778 in Fredericktown, Westchester County,
NY, d. 10/22/1868 in New Berlin, Chenango County, NY. His children were
named Susan, Deloss White, Job Wallace, Maricha, Smith Benjamin, Hannah,
Nancy, Ellen, George L., Lester, and George F.. but none of his daughters
had a husband by the name of Hotchkiss recorded in the Vail - Farnsworth
Genealogy. I have no reason to believe that Frederick Vail was a soldier in
the War of 1812, however I have not looked for military records for
Frederick.
