Hello -- I've just joined this list in desperation because I can find so
few resources for James City County.

I have Louise Foley's volume III [James City and Surry counties] and am
plodding through it page by page since the index is incomplete, but is there
anything else covering the 1600s and early 1700s in James City County? I
live in Salt Lake City and have access to the enormous LDS collection of
genealogical books in their library, but both their librarian and I were
shocked to discover they only have TWO books on JCC and those cover later
periods. I've combed the online bookstores with no better results.

This is the HOME, the landing place of virtually all our early Virginia
ancestors ferpete'ssake! and I just can't believe so little has been written
on JCC genealogy.

Any help in locating other genealogical references for this period in James
City County will be much appreciated.
