I am new to the list. My 9th great grandparents is Edwin Conway, SR. (Connaway) who was born 1610-1620 in Worcester, England. He died before 20 Jan 1664 in Lancaster County, Virginia. He married Martha Eltonhead daughter of Richard Eltonhead and Anne Sutton in England. They had two children: Edwin Conway, JR. and Eltonhead Conway.

I descend from their daughter Eltonhead Conway born ca 1646 in Northampton Co., Va. and died 28 Oct 1689 in Middlesex Co., Va and married Henry Thacker, Sr.

I do have a few records on Edwin Conway, SR. He came to Va ca 1640. He appeared in Northampton Co., Va. records in his first grant of land Oct 1644 as Edwwynn Connaway of Northampton, Clarke.

Edwin SR. was clerk of Northampton County. He later moved to Lancaster County, Va. as he is named in Fenwick's deed of 1654 and was executor of Elias Edmonds in Lancaster Co. He was granted 500 acres in Northampton at Hungar's Creeke.

When in Lancaster he was given a grant for 1250 acres on the SE side Crotoman River. This was 1652. On 3 Mar 1656 he was granted 1000 acres in Lancaster to himself, Mr. Edwin Conway, and Mr. Gervase Dodson.

I am trying to locate the land in Lancaster and trying to determine which parish or church Edwin Conway might have records in.

Concerning my next grandmother, Eltonhead Conway that married Henry Thacker, Sr. She was left gifts by Elinor, wife of Capt. William Brocas, which descends from the Eltonhead line... also a gift from Ladie Agatha Chicheley from the Eltonhead line .. and finally, a gift from Col. John Carter as he married into the family.

Any information would greatly be appreciated on these land records and a church parish as I don't know which church to try and find records in.
