In November, I received a reply on GenForum from Catherine Solley regarding
"Henry Van Valkenburg". Her "Henry" did not match mine, but it does match
yours. I am providing my information as well. My Henry was born in
Stuyvesant, NY (about 1 mi north of Kinderhook).

She replied that Henry VV was born about 1830. He married Ellen Rand
Perkins and owned San Lorenzo Paper Mill in Santa Cruz, CA. He was killed
at the age of 32 when they were felling trees.
"There were no marks on his body and the family thought he died of fright."
He dies in January of
1862 nd left a widow and three children: Marie (Marion), Ellie and Carl.
Carl was born after his
father passed.
