you may be thinking of Israel Janney who married Jane McPherson, and was
the son of Hannah Ingledew and Jacob Janney, both of whom migrated to Lincoln
(then Goose Creek) VA in the early 1700's. Israel was a miller and store
keeper there, Hannah started the Goose Creek Quaker Meeting and is celebrated
in Polly Grose's book called Hannah Janney (do a search with Amazon, book
published in this country) Or go to Asa Moore Janney's store in Lincoln
Va and look at the Janney family tree.
