Edwards Ferry was used as a crossing in the Civil War and 5 miles above it,
White's Ferry was in operation.
River Ferry's had to be sanctioned by the State and there are state records.
I am interested in the operators and families.
As you can imagine the ferry's were a significant aspect of life in the
18th. & 19th. C.
