Hello, my name is Brenda Collins Dillon and I have a website called
APPALACHIAN MOUNTAIN FAMILIES. I have been searching my family history for
close to 30 years andhave many questions connected with Montgomery County I
hope someone can help me answer.
My surnames are many but the ones I am most concerned with at the moment is
COLLINS BENNETT WILLIAMS .

My earliest Collins is Meredith Collins b. 1760 Va( possibly Montgomery Co.)
He entered RevWar Fincastle-Montgomery under Captian James McDaniels
in 1776. I found the record at Christianburg,Va. Questions: Does anybody know
parents, verify birth date or place, or know name of his first wife he
appeared to marry about 1785?

My earliest Bennett is Henry "Pete" Bennett b.1815 Va. married 1) Mary_____
2) Laura Long in1887 ( she was from Claybourne ,Tn
Children include: Mary,Margaret,Charles,Selinda,Abigail,Jacob,George,John,
Cynthia,Isabelle,Miaram

My earliest Williams is Hugh Williams b.1767 Va. d. after 1850 Nicholas Co.WV
married Jane BELL 1781 Rockingham,Va.
Children: only ones I am aware of is Melinda,Alexander,and Andrew

Also , I would like to know if Fort Christianna was located at
Christianburg,Va.?
