I've found a domed ring, sterling silver, that has a crest on the dome and says Virginia Polytechnic Institute around the crest. There is no date on the ring. It appears to have been cut in the back so perhaps has been resized for a smaller hand. In size, (dome, not finger) it is actually a tad smaller than my daughter's high school ring. It has to pre-date 1944 -- perhaps by a couple of decades or more.
Does anyone have any idea what it is? was? meant? Has anyone seen one before?
Does anyone know where/how I can research it?
