The land you mentioned that your Archibald Thompson bought from Capt. James
Patton Thompson in 1813, this James is the son of William Thompson and Mary
Patton.

Also this private fort you mentioned was called The Town House.
This James Thompson was a member of Fincastle Co, Va Court.

This James Thompson was born in Augusta Co, Va and later lived in Montgomery
Co, Va with his family and James moved to Washington Co, Va.
And some of his family can be found in Tazewell Co, Va.

Have you seen the picture of Col. Archibald Thompson the son of John,
appears to be a handsome man, History Of Tazewell Co, Va.
