Subject: Searching Salisbury/Leibrook or Lybroo

I am a new lister searching for gggrandparents William Salisbury
and Mary (Leibrook) Salisbury, and have hit the proverbial
brick wall. The 1850 Louisiana Census enumerates Wm and Mary along
with several children, all from Louisiana.
In the 1850 Census, William (born @ 1815-1819) 35 yrs old, was from
Virginia, and Mary (born about 1825) 25 yrs old, was from Germany. I have
searched in LA and found they both died in
New Orleans. So I am now back tracking to VA, but I don't know where in VA.
I believe Mary had a brother, Francis, and a sister, Catherine Leibrook.
One document says that Francis was from Alsace, born about 1824. If anyone
recognizes these names or can offer any suggestions, I would appreciate
hearing from you. Also, can anyone tell me about the name "Leibrook". It
doesn't seem to be very common in the New Orleans area. I am trying to
learn the migration pattern along the way from Germany or France???? I just
don't know where the Salisbury's and Leibrooks met up.
Many thanks,
Rose
