Mabel Miles Woodward, age 84, of 242 old Airport Road, Bristol, VA entered
eternal rest at 6:45 pm Friday (January 7, 2003) at Johnston Memorial
Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Princeton, West Virginia on
April 16, 1918, a daughter of the late Samuel Ash and Lillie Bonds Miles,
she has resided in this area, since 1949. Mrs. Woodward was a homemaker and
a member of Tennessee Avenue Baptist Church. She was a former member of the
Eastern Star, Bristol Chapter #25. Mrs. Woodward will be remembered as a
loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother & Sister. She is preceded in
death by her husband, Allison Barnard Woodward in 1965.


Survivors include two sons-Barnard Woodward of Bristol, VA & Tommy Woodward
of Gladeston,VA


Three daughters-Sonia McCracken, Sylvia Slagle and Zina Beth Stout Crowe all
of Bristol, VA; 6 grandchildren-Tommy Wayne& Woodward Jr, Paul Wren
Woodward, Greg McCracken, James William Crowe, Becky Barker and Katrine
Stout; 4 great grandchildren-Alex Snead, Tommy Wayne Woodward II, Paul Wren
Woodward II, and Megan Snead; Three sisters Lucille Woods of Bluefield, West
Virginia, Ned Cullop and Samaline Flint both of Bristol, VA; special
friend-Jerry Powers; several nieces and nephews.


Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Thursday (January 9,2003) in
Mt. View Cemetery.Pastor Joe Hudson will officiate.


No formal visitation has been scheduled at the funeral home.Those wishing
may make memorial contributions to Hospice, P. 0. box 103, Abingdon, VA
24212.
