I am wondering about something:
Does anyone who has researched the surnames VIERS and DAVIS have any
info, that is supported by reliable sources, records, family bibles,
etc, that suggests / states that the Viers and / or Davis families in
this region, SW Va, are from the northern states, esp. Vermont.
I am not asking about what is on rootsweb sites or other genealogy
sites. I mean hard evidence that could not be confused. Or
"manufactured" by misreading unintelligible handwriting. Or jumping to
some faulty conclusions.
I am not saying some one has mislead or is misleading anyone, I am just
trying to find out if anyone knows of any evidence that any of the VIERS
or DAVIS lines down here in Va have some connections up north in the
late 1700's or not.
( in one of my lines in Illinois there are some names that are popping
up down here and they are saying they are from Va in some records and
some are saying Vermont)
Thanks for listening. And for whatever info I receive in response to the
post.
Happy Hunting to all,
Bonnie
