Hi. I just joined this list. I am looking for a connection to Moore.

My wife's grandfather's name was Allison Vanlandingham Moore. He was born in 1862 in Darke County, Ohio, the son of William A. and Mary (unknown maiden name) Moore.

It's possible she was a Vanlandingham. I've not located any Vanlandingham connections to this family. I think these Moore's were born in Randolph County, Indiana.

It seems significant to me that any parent who would bestow a name like Vanlandingham on a child did it for a very good reason.

Naturally, I'd like to know why!
