WRT the questions about the Booker Plantation--
I have the following to offer:
First on Rosser Mill Pond Road which is about 5 miles from Pamplin a
relative owns a farm which he bought and it was part of the "Ole Booker
Place". Don't know if that is part of a plantation or not.
Secondly: In the History of Prince Edward County Va by Burrell there are
numerous references to Bookers. Unfortunately the book is not indexed
but in the first 4 chapters I found a number of Bookers who served in
the House of Delegates and Senate in the 181Xs, attended the Convention
in 1776 in Williamsburg, Offiers in the Va Military in the Revolution
for Prince Edward County, and finally served in the Co F 18th Va
Infantry at the 2nd Battle of Manasses.
This book can be purchased through the Southside Va Historical
Press--804-392-8300
Hope this helps
Doug
