I am a Cox/Cock descendant of Charles Cox/Cock who worked as an overseer/farm manager, as noted in the 1870 census, at Lower Brandon in the 1860-70s. His wife was Jeannette Lumsden (Nicol).
I am looking for graveyard data from Brandon, or genealogical information on this family.
I have one child missing from their family. Census info says Jeannette (aka Jennet) had 9 children/7 living in the 1900 and 1910 census. I know that their third son Charles L. was gone by this time so that leaves one child unaccounted for.
There appears to be a link to the Harrison lines with my Charles Cox.
I can not as yet prove his parentage, he was born April 1822 in Surry Co., VA and died 1905/1906 in Surry Co.;and his sister Catherine was born 1817 in Virginia.
Any ideas on how to get information from the records kept at Brandon?
I would appreciate ANY help you could be.
