Hello.... I may be mistaken on this point but I was under the impression
that WV's statehood from VA came about in 1863, not 1853. If I am wrong...
apologies all around.
Also, where would be the logical place to search for any records that exist
from these early years? Would the records be requested from VA or from the
various states that evolved from VA according to statehood dates?
