I have 2 great memories of Christmas.

Growing up in our household meant you better have a quick mind and be able
to take a joke! I'm considered the gullible one, or as my brother Tony would
say..the "DUH ONE"!

Our 1st Christmas in FL my Mom called and told me that she had bought me a
organ! I had always wanted one and could not wait. She went thru this long
story of how she got it and it would be delivered by truck the next couple
days and she would be there to help look for a red & blue truck. Well all
day long I kept waiting for my organ, I had already cleaned out a spot for
it in the living room!

No truck for 2 days & I was worried, but Mom kept telling me that it would
arrive that day. Now I live in the country and had to walk to the mail box
so I tried to send my sons, husband & brother and they refused. After all
they were busy..the a/c was cranked way down & they were building a fire in
the fireplace! I kept screaming about my electric bill!! and they kept
telling me to walk to the mail box.

So off I go..when here comes a blue & red truck....you guessed it! The mail
truck was delivering my organ, it is about 5 ins across & abt 3-4 ins high.
But amazing it played great music after you wind it up!!!

Mom laughed the loudest & the men & kids rolled on the floor after moving a
table to the spot I had picked out and putting my organ on top. We played it
at Christmas for years until it broke.

When my brother Tony came home from Vietnam after 3 yrs there, he and my
cousins decided on Christmas Eve to go out...well they were not leaving me
home just because I was the only one with children and needed to put a
tricycle & bike together...lol

We came home slightly tipsy about midnight...and tried & tried to put those
bikes together! Woke up Mom & she had to help us, we kept putting the handle
bars on backwards.
Then we decided to try them out....
Tony wrecked the bike & I wrecked the tricycle....We woke up the house &
neighborhood & Christmas that year was at 2 am with all the adults in the
street playing with their kids toys...No child enjoyed Christmas as much as
we supposedly adults did that night.

Of course we never told the kids that they got "used" toys...lol

Wishing you & yours a safe, happy & Merry Christmas!
