My ancestors were Day laborers and they were not slaves. Below is a

Let me get folks' opinion about something. In the 1860 census, my Hannagan
ancestors had members of their household, who were "day laborers." They were
black. Do you suppose that these people were slaves? Slaves that were hired
from someone else or to someone else? Just wondering.
