Joel has corrected me in an inadvertence. I was asked what is on an 1812
application, and to show that, I posted a "certificate" which reveals the
operative facts; thought I said certificate, but it seems not. Thanks Joel.

I have been asked what info is on a widow's War of 1812 pension application
and available from NARA.

I have posted an original; Martha Midlam, "widow of Joseph Midlam, who was a
Pvt. in Captain (Gawin) Henry's Company of Penna Militia" and was entered on the
Pension Roll of the "Indianapolis Agency" in 1878 (there was no pension for such
widows till then). She rec'd $8.00 per month, equal to about $300.00 now. She
lived to be 92 and died in 1890.

Here is a URL for seeing that document. Paul
