Needing information on the following SPEARS family or families:

Alfred SPEARS born about 1829, married a Nancy born 1833. Alfred appears to have been born in NC and Nancy in Tazewell Co. VA. I would assume they were married around 1849/1850 since there is only the two of them on the 1850 census. At that time they lived in Russell Co VA.

I believe Alfred's mother to have been in Watauga Co NC on the 1850 census. That census shows
Elizabeth SPEARS age 44 or 49
Louisa SPEARS age 22
Malinda age 3 - I know Malinda to be Malinda Jane

1860 census for Tazewell Co VA shows the following SPEARS family:
Alfred age 31
Nancy age 27
John age 8
Nancy age 6
David age 2
Elizabeth age 62
Jane age 13

I believe the age for Elizabeth to be incorrect on the 1850 and correct or close to correct on the 1860. Her maiden name may have been HARTLEY and it is possible her husband's name was James.

This is one very large brick wall for me - desperation is starting to set in!
