ETOWAH, Tenn. — Allie Helen Moore Powell, 90, died Thursday (Sept. 28,
2000).

A native of Scott County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Grover C.
and Ava Kilgore Moore.

She was a member of Etowah First Baptist Church for 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther C. Powell; sisters, Ethel
Moore and Irene Galloway; brothers, Carmine Moore and Kenneth Moore.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary Helen Powell Herndon Byers, Knoxville, and
Margaret Jane Middleton, Chattanooga, Tenn.; nephews, Larry More,
Nickelsville, Va., and Randy Moore, Gate City, Va.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church,
Etowah, Tenn., with the Rev. John E. Pennington Jr. officiating. Friends may
call immediately following the service in the fellowship hall of the church.

Private graveside services will be held at Green Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 824
Washington Ave., Etowah, Tenn. 37331.

Bordwine Funeral Home, Etowah, Tenn., is in charge of the arrangements.
