FREDERICKSBURG, VA., Feb. 8.-John F. Bland, a prominent citizen of
Spotsylvania county, died Monday night at his home, Eastern View.

James Calvin Bullock.
James Calvin Bullock died at the reasidence of his sister, Mrs. R. M. Bagby,
26 South Adams Street, yesterday morning at 7:30 o'clock, in the sixty-first
year of his age. The funeral wil take place from the residence this
afternoon at 3 o'clock, with interment in Hollywood.
Mr. Bullock is survived by three children--Lloyd C. Bullock, Miss Katie L.
Bullock and Mrs. Mary L. Wingfield, all of this city, and three
sisters--Mrs. A. M. Ratcliffe, of Ashland; Mrs. Lillie Gayle, of
Spotsylvania Courthouse, and Mrs. R. M. bagby, of this city.
Mr. Bullock was a veteran of the Civil War, being attached to Hanover Troop,
Wickham's Brigade of cavalry.
John B. Ratcliffe, J. Ferrel Taylor, S. J. Wingfield, R. M. Bagby, Joseph A.
Puller and A. W. Robinson will act as pall-bearers.

REV. GEO. H. RAY DIES AT ASHLAND.
Was One of Most Prominent Methodist Ministers in Virginia.
Ashland, Va., March 18.--Rev. George H. Ray, D. D., one of the best known
Methodist ministers of the State, died to-night at 10:20 o'clock at the home
of his son, Dr. A. C. Ray, in this city.
Dr. Ray was a member of the Methodist Conference for a period of
fifty-seven years, and during that time he had held charges in various
sections of the State, having at different times been assigned to Richmond
churches. He was widely known throughout Virginia, and the news of his death
will be received with sincere regret in church circles. Dr. Ray's last
appointment was to the church at Spotsylvania, and while there, on August
15, 1909, he suffered a stroke of paralysis, and this was the cause of his
death. Shortly after being stricken he was brought to his son's home here,
and he had remained there ever since, until the end came to-day. He was born
in the District of Columbia in 1832, and was nearly eighty years of age.
Dr. Ray is survived by three children, Dr. A. C. Ray, of Ashland; Rev.
George H. Ray, Jr., and Mrs. West, all of whom were with him when the end
came.
The funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11 o'clock in the
chapel of the Randolph-Macon College, at this place, and the remains will be
taken to Richmond on the train arriving there at 12:20 o'clock for interment
at Holllywood Cemetery.

John A. B. Gordon.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA., Dec. 20.-Mr. John A. B. Gordon, a prominent citizen of
Spotsylvania county, died last night at his home near Sunlight, of
rheumatism of the heart, aged sixty-one years. He was a Confederate soldier
and formerly resided in this city. A numhber of his relatives now reside
here. He is survived by his widow, three children, four sisters and two
brothers.
