James Somerville's plantation is located INLAND about 1 mile from the
Rappahannock just about where the (Mattaponi) river comes into the
Rappahannock -- about 1 to 2 miles or so upstream from Snow Creek which
forms the boundary with Caroline Co. Ruffin's Pond is a part of the creek.
I would guess that you will have a lot of swamps to choose from along the
creek/river.
RE the source for names, the answer is NO for names this old. Just have to
piece them together from deeds -- at least that was my experience.
