Subject: [VASPOTSY] James Graves and Sarah Unknown

It has been suggested to me off list that Sarah might have been a Jones that was married to my grandfather James Graves whose will is in Culpeper 1781.

My next grandmother is Mary Graves that married Richard Parks son of John Parks and Margaret True in CIulpeper.

Mary's sister Jail.. Jael.. married Capt, William Jones who I know nothing of. If anyone has info on this Jones line I would certainly appreciate it. I have many deeds in Culpeper with Graves and Parks line but I don't see anything with a Jones unless it goes back to Spotsylvania County.

Here are two Culpeper deeds I was referring to in earlier postings:

(1) 22 April 1757 James Graves and Sarah his wife of Brumfield Parish, Culpeper County, to Henry Stringfellow of Saint Mark's Parish... 130 acres.. on Mr. Wallis line (I think this is John Wallis) ... corner to Lewis Davis Yancey...

(2) I believe Thomas Graves is a brother to Janes Graves..

22 April 1757 Thomas Graves and Elizabeth his wife,of Culpeper County to William Stringfellow of same.... 200 acres in Saint Mark's Parish on the branches of Muddy Run... Lewis Davis Yancey's line... in the low grounds of Cabbin Branch... John Willis's line... Capt. Lewis Davis Yancey's line and corner to Henry Stringfellow.

In 1737 I have a deed of Lewis Davis Yancey of Orange County to John Graves of Spotsylvania County, Va. 400 acres on Muddy Run on the north side witnessed by R. Eastham, Thos. Dillard and Edward Lankford.

Also before James Graves and Sarah were in Culpeper I have a deed dated 28 May 1744 in Louisa County, Va .. James Graves, planter, and Sarah his wife to Thomas Chambers of same... 133 acres on Hollowing Camp Creek ... William Harris's corner... Robert Scearcy's line... in the north fork of Hoolowing Camp Creek..
Witnessed by Thomas Lankford, Love Statham, Francis Clark.

Any help would be appreciated if you recognze any of these names in these counties.
