Upon googling again Holladay, Va and Lewiston, Va are separated by Lake Anna State Park
with Rt. 208 and Courthouse Road near both.
John Marshall Holloday's will in Spotsylvania in 1742 leaves over 1200 acres of land to his children although notes say he had over 4,000 acres at one time.. I just found in my notes where he and wife Elizabeth, graves are several yards from the residence of Lewis H. Holladay, their great grandson, Dr. L. H. Holladay before he removed to Orange county.
Two records I am interested in obtaining is
(1) In 1711 John moved from Pamusky R. to Spotsylvania ten miles above N. Wales.
(2) In 1724 Elizabeth, his wife, received 400 acres in St. George Parish. No location given other than that.
Any information on those two records would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks Joan,
I tried to google and saw a Holladay, Va in southwest Spotsylvania and that was all I could find. Thanks a lot. Many researchers have John Marshall Holladay married to Elizabeth Brocus and others to Ann Elizabeth Lewis. One of his grandsons married into the Lewis line which I believe was part of the younger Zachary Lewis line. I have been trying to see if I can find out more about that too. I have never seen proof for either wife other researchers mention.

Northeast Creek (formerly called East North East River, or E.N.E River/Creek) runs basically parallel to the Northanna River on its (guess what!) northeast side. I too have researched the Holloday's and my guess is that the elder John Holloday's land was roughly between today's Lewiston and Lake Anna State Park. --Joan

I am trying to find the present day location of E NE Creek of the SW part of
Spotsylvania County. My 8th great grandfather is John Marshall Holladay whose
will is dated 1742 in Spotsylvania County. His plantation is named Bellafonte. I
believe this was in St. George's Parish.
Any info concerning this land description would greatly be appreciated.
