Help me with my confusion on the Porter family in Culpepper, Orange,
Rockingham, and Stafford Co, VA before 1776. The WFT tree disk circulating
keep perpetuating what is obvious misinformation. It lists Benjamin Porter
and Ann Campbell with their first born Benjamin Porter, b c 1697.
William Porter, b 1707 Goshen, Rockbridge, VA
Samuel Porter, b 1709
Mary Porter, b Jan 20, 1710/11
Patrick Porter, b May 1, 1713 in Orange Co, VA
Ambrose Porter, b November 1731 in Orange Co, VA
Thomas Porter, b Nov 1731
Nicholas Porter, b 1733
Charles Porter, b 1735 in Orange Co, VA
Abner Porter, b 1739 in Orange Co, VA
Joseph Porter, b 1743 in Orange Co, VA
Elizabeth Porter, b 1745 in Orange Co, VA
Frances Porter, b 1747, in Orange Co, VA
Jane Porter, b 1749 in Orange Co, VA.

Obviously the same women did not give birth to a child in 1697 and in 1749.
These are two different generations. Does anyone have it sorted out (and
perhaps backed up by wills and documents) as to which Porter married Ann
Campbell-and which Porter married Ann Shropshire.

Appreciate any help.
