Hi all!
Was glad to see that there were other people subscribed to this list
after all. Here's my tidewater connection. Guess you could call me
a Hamptonian. I was born in Newport News and raised in Hampton. My
families moved to the lower peninsula in the 1920s. My mother's side
of the family hails from the Gloucester, Middlesex and perhaps King
and Queen and Essexs counties. The family names are: HAYNES, SEARS,
ACRA, SOUTH, PADGET, RILEE, and BOOKER. My father's side comes from
Amelia and Prince Edward counties. I'd be interested in talking with
anyone researching these names in the tidewater area.
