Subject: [VAUGHAN] Vaughan DNA testing

I administrate a group of descendants of William and Fereby (Benton)
Vaughan and John and Nancy (Callicott) Vaughan and I want to encourage
any Vaughan men
on this group to have their Y-DNA tested and to share the results with
other Vaughan researchers. Our group has paid (as a group) for about 10
DNA tests on some of our members and so our group has made up the
majority of the DNA tests done in the Vaughan DNA study -- until
recently, when more and more Vaughans are having the test done. You do
have to be a direct Vaughan descendant -- a male-- in a straight line
from your Vaughan ancestor for the test to work. A simple way to tell
if you qualify -- IF your last name is Vaughan or Vaughn from birth and
IF you nor any of your male Vaughan ancestors were adopted and IF you
are a male, then you have Vaughan Y-DNA. The Y-DNA test only shows a
male's father's father's father's father's (and so on) line.
Also, someone in my group told me that on Friday, February 9th, the
Travel Channel there is a show on Haunted places that will be featuring
Tretower Court and Castle in Wales. Most Vaughans descend from the
Tretower line, so you all might want to set your VCR for it. It will be
at 9 PM Central Time, 10 PM Eastern Time and the show lasts an hour.
