Of interest is thd monument to the Co A, 61st VA Infantry is in Chesapeake,
VA.
It is the only Confederate Monument in the city of Chesapeake.

At this time the Norfolk County Grays, United Daughters of the Confederacy,
Chesapeake, VA. is raising money to have this monument repointed.

It is on St. Brides Road.

Three years ago the UDC group raised money to put up Highway markers to
show the way to the monument. We put up three markers.

Every Memorial Day the UDC Ladies and the SCV have a ceremony there and
present wreaths. It is a 9:00 if anyone would like to attend.

If anyone would like to see the monument I can have my husband scan it and
put it on the web.

I have a list of the entire Company A if anyone would like any information
on a member of that company.
