BENJAMIN HUBBARD6 HANCOCK (Timothy5, Billey4, Samuel3, Anthony2,
Anthony1) was born 10 April 1802 in Winchendon, MA, and died 1887. He
married (1) Phebe HANCOCK June 1827 in Winchendon, MA: (int. he was from
Orange, VT), daughter of Samuel HANCOCK and Phoebe. She was born 13 December
1806 in Orford, NH, and died 02 April 1843 in Stowe, VT; age 36 years, wife
of Hubbard Hancock; burial Old Yard Cemetery, Stowe. He married (2) Maria
Lane 08 October 1843 in Cohasset, Plymouth, MA: widow of George Rice. He
married (3) KATE Morse LOWE 29 March 1871 in Berlin, VT: she was of Lebanon,
NH. He married (4) Ruba Wood BANCROFT Aft. 1872.
BENJAMIN HUBBARD HANCOCK; went by Hubbard; married his first cousin,
Phebe Hancock. Their common ancestor being grandparents Bill and Persis
(Woods) Hancock of Winchendon, MA.
A letter to Stillman Hale dated April 6, 1829 from cousins Hubbard and
Phebe Hancock, Washington, VT stated they had a little boy 2 months old. A
second letter to Stillman dated July 13, 1832; "Father and Mother (Timothy
and Lucy Stoddard Hancock) have been quite feeble." Hubbard sold his place
to Timothy 2nd.
Hubbard B. Hancock was living with son Watson and wife Sarah when he
died. He is buried at Green Mountain Cemetery, Montpelier, VT, next to wife
Maria.
Phebe HANCOCK: daughter of Samuel Hancock late of Orford, being a minor,
upwards to 14 years of age, elected and chose Joseph Hancock of Orford to be
her legal guardian of her to 21 years of age. Signed... 20 July 1826.
"Phebe Hancock was born in the year 1806 December 13. Phebe died in Stow
April 20, 1843 in the 36 year of her age." (The Almeda (Hancock) Curtis

Maria LANE: widow of George RICE. There was a son, Samuel Rice from this
marriage and Samuel had a daughter Maria Louise Rice.
Maria had a sister Joanna who married George Howe.
Kate Morse LOWE: ( Mrs.) was of Lebanon, NH at the time of her marriage.
Children of BENJAMIN HANCOCK and Phebe HANCOCK are:
i. Watson7 HANCOCK, b. February 1829, Washington, VT; m. Sarah.
ii. Sarah M. HANCOCK, b. 01 May 1842; d. 06 April 1843, Stowe, VT: burial
Old Yard Cemetery, Stowe; age 11 months 6 days.
Searching for any descendants of Watson and Sarah HANCOCK. Would like to give
the above mentioned letters a good home.
