Linda,

I'm interested in this project you are working on. My 3rd great grandmother was Sarah (Johnson) Lamb, the wife of Zenal Chauncey Lamb who died at Gettysburg and Josiah C. Taylor who fought at Gettysburg, and daughter of Luther Johnson and Abigail "Nabby" Pierce. Luther was the son of Luther Johnson who was born in Winchester, NH and Nancy Damon of Chester, VT. This Luther's parents were John Johnson and Ruth Mudge.

I have been working with Stephen M. Lawson who has published a website which includes this Johnson family from 2 book sources. His website is www.kinnexions.com. You may want to contact him, as these books are very helpful when trying to track down these Johnsons. One of the books, "Genealogy of John and Ruth Johnson who lived in Chester Vermont in the year 1800 before and after" was Gathered, Arranged and Published by GEORGE M. T. JOHNSON Binghamton, N. Y. 1909. This George M. T. Johnson was the son of Leonard Johnson, who was the son of John Johnson, Jr, the son of John and Ruth Mudge Johnson. George's grandfather had written about his family and it also includes pictures. It's a great first hand account of these families as well as follow-ups to the family til the time frame of 1909. Stephen Lawson has had other researchers, like myself, who've added to these works to make it even more current. George M. T. Johnson stated in his book that he had wanted other famil!
y members to write him and include updates, and Stephen seems to be doing more than a fine job in continuing that work.

At any rate, I just wanted to be aware of the publishing of the Society's book when it is finished, as well as let you know of the work of Stephen Lawson's website.

Blessings,

Jill Watters Rains
