I have a large brick wall that perhaps Tina can resolve with the help of her books.

My g-g-g-grandfather is John Govro. From census information I know that he was born in Canada sometime around 1800-1810. His wife's name is Mary (no surname available) and she was born approx. 1817 in Vermont. On the 1850 census their oldest child is 14, so I am assuming they were married around 1834-1835. This is all the info. I have on them, and I have already written to the State of Vermont records department with no luck. I also hired a professional researcher from Quebec, also with no luck. I do know from earlier postings to this board and others that the surname Govro was probably spelled Gauvereux or Gauverau or something similar.

Any help you could provide would be greatly provided.
