I am in Scotland working on the family history of James FINDLAY (1818 to
1881). They were a successful faming family in Lanarkshire and Ayrshire
Scotland.
James set up on the Mansefield Farm Muirkirk Ayrshire about 1850.
Three of James son's emigrated to USA. The 1900 USA census sows us that
William FINDLAY (b 1847 Muirkirk d abt1932 Gothenburg NE) saya he came to
USA in 1867 and as his wife (Mary WYLIE b abt 1862) is from Vermont and
first children are born Vermont they should be there in the 1880 Census. We
searched this and the UK/Canada 1881 with no sightings of them.
Can anyone tell us if they are in Vermont in 1870?
Later there may also be a brother John FINDLAY (b Spt 1849 Muirkirk) who we
believe has a son Howard who marries Teresa and young Alexander Miller
FINDLAY (b 1861 Muirkirk)
Regards
Robin
