Hello everyone,

Our VIA list is now a few days old. I am absolutely amazed at the number of
people who have subscribed. There are now over 50 people on this list and
word isn't really out yet about our existence. I didn't know there were so
many of us VIA researchers. Thanks everyone for your interest.

As you have time please post your lines of descent. I'd like to get a
general idea of which branches we have represented. You may also want to
re-post any queries you have since we've added several new members in the
past few days.

If you have a specialty area, one you feel you know a lot about please let us
know that also. For example some people have a lot of knowledge about land
patents and grants, etc. Which brings me to another question. William VIA
(the one born about 1761) had a son Jonathan. In William's will or inventory
it gives his name as Jonathan Via Jr. Why would he use Jr?

I have about a million other things I'd like to throw out for general
discussion and to get your opinions but will only hit you with a few
questions at a time!! Kind of like a soap opera, stay tuned to see what I
can come up with next.

Judy
