As most of you know Rootsweb is our host for these surnames lists. They have
reminded us lately about copyright violations. Please be careful when
posting information to the list. Fair use is fine. Small citations when
adding the source information is fine. Most of us are not attorneys so we
must rely on common sense when dealing with copyright laws.

The second reminder is that our lists are not to be used for advertising. I
don't believe we've had a problem with either of these items, but I just
wanted to remind everyone. I would have to lose the privilege of using and
being part of the Rootsweb family.

Thank you to everyone on the Maupin and Via lists. You're a great group to
be part of. Continue those queries and contributions.
