Mary Frances "Doodle" Viars, 71, of Davis Cemetery Road, Wytheville, Va., died Monday, April 25, 2005. Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 28, at 1 p.m. in the Reese Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ginny Tompkins and the Rev. Windom Davidson officiating. Interment will follow in Davis Cemetery. She was born June 18, 1933 in Wythe County, Va., a daughter of the late John and Elsie Etta Shupe Montgomery. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Elmer Waller, her second husband, Harry William Viars, Sr.; one son, Thomas Allen Viars; two sisters, Annie Mae Montgomery and Lucille Catherine Viars; six brothers, Walter "Slicer" Montgomery, William Edgar Montgomery, Garland Mack Montgomery, David Clayton Montgomery, Steven Junior Montgomery and Larry Andrew Montgomery; and one granddaughter, Mechaela Diane Waller. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James Elmer Jr. and Kathy Waller; one granddaughter, Alisha Waller, all of Wytheville, Va.; three b!
rothers and sisters-in-law, John Homer and Pamela Montgomery of Nocona, Texas, Henry Lee Montgomery of Wytheville, Va., and James R. and Susan Montgomery of Barren Springs, Va.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Reese Funeral Home in Austinville, Va., is in charge of arrangements.
