Subject: ADMIN: Plain Text Messages
Date: Wed, 02 Feb 2005 21:38:05 -0600
The intent of this message is to inform subscribers about a recent change
in RootsWeb's policy regarding messages sent to mailing lists.
RootsWeb is now completely filtering out (blocking) all HTML coded email
messages to reduce SPAM, the majority of it being raunchy pornographic
advertisements. When posting to a RootsWeb mailing list, your message
should be sent as "plain text" versus HTML, RTF (rich text format) or
fancy colored text and stationary. Therefore, use only WHITE background
stationary and BLACK fonts. In most instances, you can control the format
by adjusting the settings in your mail program.
Instructions for formatting your mail to plain text are provided on the
following website:
http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/listadmins/plaintext.html
If there are any questions regarding this issue, please consider responding
through this list or contact me privately.
Happy Huntin'
