ROSCOE-Henry Deloyal "Vince" Vinson, 64, of Roscoe went home to be with the
Lord at 1:10 pm, January 14, 2003, culminating a courageous battle with
intestinal lymphoma. He was born June 26, 1938, at home in Medina,
Tennessee, the son of Henry Thomas Vinson and Rubye Whitt Vinson. He was
educated in schools near Trenton, Tenn. and served from 1955-59 in the U. S.
Navy. He married Sharon Adamson on December 18, 1964, in Palatine, Illinois.
Vince was employed as a production supervisor at North Safety Products
(formerly Marion Health & Safety) for 24 years and was plant manager of
Allied Fasteners in Janesville, Wis. for one year before his illness. He
enjoyed golf, fishing, woodworking, and carpentry. As a member of Hope
Evangelical Free Church for over 16 years, he served as trustee for several
years and was chairman of the building committee.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years Sharon; son Troy (Valerie) Vinson;
daughter Colleen (Matthew) Alms; grandson Aidan Vinson; sisters Freeda (Joe)
Dixon of Genoa, Illinois, and Evilee (Chuck) Soos of Phoenix, Arizona;
half-brother Thomas (Andrea) Vinson of Trenton, Tenn.; sister-in-law Vicki
Vinson of Trenton, Tenn.; mother Rubye Hadley of Trenton, Tenn. Also
survived by mother- and father-in-law, B. Daniel (Julianne) Adamson; sisters-
and brothers-in-law Diane (Bill) Vorndran of Belvidere; Linda Adamson of
Poplar Grove; Margaret (Dennis) Flemming of Mauston, Wis.; Dan (Hollis)
Adamson of Mesa, Ariz.; Dawn (Allen) Reimer of Capron,; close friends Ron,
Shirley, & Neil Berge; Jan & John Stewart, and Pat Peterson RN; and many
nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. Predeceased by father
on 9/5/02, brother Glenn Vinson on 12/3/02, and grandson Brennan Henry Vinson
on 12/9/02. A special thank you to Drs. Edwards and Radosevich & the staff
at ACT, VNA Hospice staff, and the staff at Rockford Memorial Hospital A3
wing and radiation oncology for all the tender loving care given Vince.
Visitation at Sunset Funeral Home from 5-8 pm on Friday, January 17 and from
9-10 am at Hope Evangelical Free Church in Roscoe preceding the services at
10:15 am on Saturday, January 18. Pastor Robert Ahlberg will officiate.
Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hope

or VNA Hospice, 4223 East State, Rockford, IL 61108.
