When I wrote the enclosing comments, it certainly was not to entice and to
include these kinds of comments, for your personal rebuttal. This is a group
searching for Native American descendants and their linkage. We are not going
to have a war over your beliefs,
Your knowledge of Robert E Lee seems limited and your stance is
questionable.
My research has included just about everything written about the man, some by
his own relatives.
Robert E Lee was seldom home. Are you aware of that? He personally went into
Mexico city while he was under Powhatan Gordon ( another relative). Robert E
Lee never owned any property. His wife was the one with the money. He narrowly
missed going to prison as a veteran of the South. Most soldiers of the South
who did survive the war, did go to prison
For your information, please read what General, Governor John Brown Gordon
had to say..Read what Fitzhugh Lee had to say.
We are not disputed your views of what is what. We are looking for relatives
lost on the trail of long ago.Your attitude convinces me that my decision to
not join DAR was a good one.
This is your second attack.
I refuse to be bigoted. And in that frame of mind, I am looking for my
relatives and the rest of the story about my grandfather, Robert Lee Gordon of
Virginia.
Most people do not give one hoot about Robert E Lee and his family of
extended cousins and of intermarriage..We
are looking for Virginia's Indian surnames. Carter and Lee are just two of
those Indian surnames..
Barb aka Earthfeather
Descendant of Chief Big Thunder- Delaware Lenni-Lenapa. Bright Lightning,
Anne Coleman, Alexander Gordon, the Shawnee, the Powhatan, the Cherokee, the "
Sauk and Fox", probably the Monacan Sioux......... and the Scot-Irish. (see
Andreas Haus 1660)
