Dear Judy,
It's not unusual to wait for several days, weeks, or even months, before the right person reads your query and responds. Don't mean to sound sarcastic, but Patience is the number one virtue of successful genealogists.
I don't know if www.rootsweb.com has a mail list for Northhampton Co. VA or not-- easy enough to find out, but I ran out of time. Am including a a few sites that I found in a quick google search that may help you. See below.
Good hunting!
Joanne

I entered "Capt. John Savage" in the search box and came up with oodles of pages to check. Also, you can post your own query.

I wrote to you list a few days ago but I didn't receive an answer. Could
anyone tell me where I could find any history of Virginia, Northampton. I
was asking about Captain John Savage born in Virginia in Northampton,
Virginia, America, b.1640.
Could anyone tell me what records are available to search there, as I wish
to verify some details about him.
If I am on the wrong list could someone please tell me which one I should be
on for this area.
