I ran ZoneALarm for a good while prior to installing my router. It was a busy little bee reporting numerous attacks every day. After I installed the router, the attacks stopped. After about 3 weeks without a single attack, I uninstalled ZoneAlarm. I would recommend this very highly. As an added bonus, my LinkSys router has 4 ports which allow me to connect up to 255 devices, all protected.

I am using the same router and I also have BlackIce in this
machine and where I used to get 10 to 20 probes a day on this
machine now that the router is there I don't get any. Would you
believe that I bought the updates for BlackIce for $30 for two years
about a month before I installed the router. Wasted money, but
one never knows does one?
