The problem with a URL as an attachment, its that it's an active file, that
is, you click on it and it does something. It could take you to a website
that then captures your computer and takes over... and some sites really do
that! So clicking on an attached URL is dangerous, but its less dangerous to
see the complete URL and then chose to click on it. At least that's the way
ZA looks at it. :)

Just another soggy Seattle Sysop.

I am gathering that Zone Alarm renames nearly all attachments, especially
when someone send a link or URL. If they send a message about the site, and
I am convinced it is legit....then I will go against the wishes of ZA and
open it.

I can get pictures ok if they are jpg as ZA doesn't change them.
I just wonder what the original name of the link attachment was that caused
the program to think it is suspicious. Does me make feel rather secure. I
sent a link to myself from a page, and it does not permit me to open the
attachment. I can view the URL in the message body.

Then when I see the various types of probes listed in Zone Alarm Analyzer, I
get nervous about them. I can not see how anyone would dare be without a
firewall and av program! I get DOS attacks, and Trojan attacks several
times a day.
