Before you reformat, be sure to try just reloading your Windows program
from the CD.

When we cleaned off another virus, our applications wouldn't run until we
reloaded Windows. We weren't current and didn't have any rescue disks.
I'm very non-technical. We did use some kind of "repair kit" from the
Norton site
which helped a lot, but still had to reload Windows 98. We didn't uninstall
anything that we wanted to keep.

Subject: [VIRUS] Virus Has Got Me

I would see if anyone out there is having the same problem I am having with
this danged virus and how was it resolved?

in getting rid of it by running Norton antivirus program, however I now
cannot use any of my software products.

technician come and remove all my files from the hardrive and start over
from scratch or is there some other alternative. It appears that only my
microsoft products are involved. I have deinstalled and reinstalled my
software to no avail. I have tried to run a scandisk but it won't work - I
keep getting a message stating that scandisk has restarted 10 times because
windows has been writing to this drive. It suggests I shut down my programs
and start again, however I am not running any other programs. This virus is
really getting my goat and I need advice. I purchased my computer from
DELL. Should I call them and have them make a housecall or is this something
I can fix by deinstalling my software and windows program and starting all
over again from scratch? Any help greatly appreciated.
