Subject: [VIRUS] Uninstalling McAfee with NAV
Date: Wed, 4 Sep 2002 06:08:08 EDT

I've been using Norton AntiVirus for the past several months, and have also
had McAfee Virus Scan because of work requirements. I now no longer need to
have the McAfee on my home computer. However, the Windows uninstall doesn't
seem to have Virus Scan on its list, so I would like to use the NAV Uninstall
Wizard. However, this gives me a list of ten different exe programs to
uninstall (scan.exe, scan32.exe, scan86.exe, scanpm.exe, bootscan.exe,
mctool.exe, mcupdate.exe, amgrcnfg.exe, virnotfy.exe, and lwi.exe).

What isn't clear is how these programs are linked. Will uninstalling one
uninstall all the others as well? If so, which one?

If they all have to be individually uninstalled, does the order in which its
done matter?

Or is the easiest way to just delete the entire folder where McAfee programs
are kept?

Thanks for any help or comments.
