For anyone who *might* be interested, I solved the problem with the following:
1. Right click on My Computers icon on the desktop.
2. Click on System Restore tab
3. Check Turn off System Restore
4. Click on Apply and OK buttons
5. Restart the computer
6. Follow the same steps 1 through 4, this time unchecking "Turn off System
Restore" checkbox in step 3.
